I’m Nath Martyn, Australian whisky enthusiast, whisky advocate, and Laird of the Queensland Malt Whisky Society. I’ve been leading whisky tastings for years. I love a good dram, but I also love the stories behind the distilleries, the unique ways different whiskies have been crafted, and how sharing a dram can bring people together and open up conversation.
That’s why I want to share whisky with you.
The Whisky Scribe was created to interest, inform and explore the wonderful world of whisky. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never had a sip, have just started going to tastings, consider yourself a connoisseur or have been making your own whisky at home (legal or illicit). I want to share my love of whisky with you.
On Whisky Reviews
I regularly review different whiskies, some I purchase myself; some are provided. I will always disclose if a whisky has been provided, but I don’t take payment for reviews in order to keep them honest and unbiased. My criteria for whisky tasting notes are the same no matter how I received the product.
Keep in mind that taste is subjective, and what I like may not be what you like. Neither of us is wrong, we just have different palates and preferences. I’m a big advocate for exploring different whiskies, but if you’re unsure, do your research and check out a few more reviews.
There are plenty of people out there sharing their opinions on whisky.
You can find my reviews on YouTube, in the blog section of this website, and some shorter reviews on Instagram and Facebook.
